Andrzej Jerzy Lech

Andrzej Jerzy Lech was born and raised in Wroclaw, Poland. Since 1989 he lives and works in the New York Bay area. He is a traveling photographer, black and white print-maker, picture framer and chef. Andrzej studied fine art photography at the School of Visual Arts in Ostrava, Czech Republic. 

Through his sepia toned black and white photography Lech relives atmospheres and landscapes which seem to be evocative of far off world. They lead the viewer to almost penetrate into the represented spaces, which dissolve in a soft and dreamy light that vibrates to the depth of the soul. 

Lech has exhibited his photographs internationally in museums and galleries in New York, Jersey City, Houston, USA; in Florence and Pescia Italy; Tokyo and Nigata, Japan; Sofia, Bulgaria; Glasgow, Scotland; Wroclaw, Warsaw, Poznan, Lodz, Katowice, Jelenia Gora, Szczecin, Poland; Bielefeld, Cologne, Dusseldorf, Germany; Toronto, Canada; Chetumal, Cancun, Mexico; Ostrava, Praha, Czech Republic. 

In 2005 Andrzej Jerzy Lech received from Jersey City Landmarks Conservancy the J. Owen Grundy History Award for his contributions to protect, preserve and promote the history of Jersey City through photography.

His photographs appears in private, corporate, gallery and museum collections such us the Museum of Modern Art in Lodz, the National Museum in Wroclaw, the National Museum in Gdansk, and the Silesian Collection of Art in Katowice, Poland, the Jersey City Museum in Jersey City, New Jersey, the Icon Pictures Collection and the Pfizer Collection of Art on Paper in New York.
